Transfer of Service
In May 2012, the NHS North of Tyne joint board decided that a procurement exercise should be undertaken in relation to providing a new contractor for interpreting services. The specification was informed by feedback received from patients and contractors over a number of years as well as representatives from the community and voluntary sector.
The procurement ran between July 2012 and January 2013 and ten notes of interest were received in response to the tender with five companies selected to submit full tender documentation.
Following review of the tender submissions, the contract was awarded to Language Empire.
Language Empire was notified in January 2013 by the Senior Programme Manager of the North East Procurement Service that we had been selected as the Recommended Bidder for the NHS North of Tyne Interpreting Services.
Language Empire achieved the highest combined score for service delivery, contract and performance management, price and affordability. We were delighted to hear that we offered the most economically advantageous tender in accordance with the ITT.
The contract began in March 2013.
We have taken all measures necessary to ensure the smoothest possible service transition to enable us to move forward in the best possible way.
